I have always had a extremely hard time losing weight. My journey took a long time and I would get so frustrated. I would count calories religiously. Drink water like a crazy person. Literally did every diet that came out. I did weight watchers, Atkins, programs with shakes I tried them all. That is what sparked me to make a lifestyle change instead of being on a diet. Now mind you my diet then and now is entirely different. I ate 100 calorie packs of cookies, sugar free pudding, and cool whip free as a snack. There is nothing in that food, but that story is for another day. I have experimented with my diet and had to figure out what works for me. Joshua Rosenthal founder of IIN always says one persons food is another persons poison. That is so very true. We are so bio-individual. I had heard so much about Paleo diet and I had never tried it. I don't eat gluten hardly at all anyway, or do dairy so I decided to give it a try. I went to a lecture, I have watched documentaries and decided to embark on the path. It was supposed to help with belly fat and that is my most stubborn area. So I was excited and ready to try this. I was doing the bullet proof coffee with the grass fed butter and MCT or Coconut oil. I was eating lots of healthy fat and waiting for the scale to magically move. It did move... I gained 6 lbs inspite of working out 4-5 days a week. And I didn't feel good anymore. My belly felt heavy and bloated. So guess what? Paleo isn't for me. Now that does not mean that it doesn't work for other people, but it is not the diet plan for me. I do much better just eating clean and paying attention to portion size. There are so many different diets out there and everyone thinks theirs is the best. It may be for them but not for you.
