I was over weight my entire life. I lived in a household of skinny people and I was fat. I never understood that. I didn't eat a ton more than them. I wasn't inactive. Years and years of going on lots of different diets. I would lose weight and gain it back. Finally I decided to take a different approach and change my lifestyle habits. I changed how I ate a little at a time. Gradually I lost 77lbs. I made permanent changes instead of a diet. Everyone always ask me how I lost the weight. That made me want to help other people achieve what I had. I knew I didn't want to be a Dietitian or Nutritionist, and was so excited to discover the world of health coaching. I now know why I was overweight in my family. Even though they are my family I am different than them. I cannot eat what they eat and not gain weight. Everyone is unique. We are all bio-individual! No two people have the same genetic makeup so we can't carbon copy our food. Now I can help people lose the weight by changing their lifestyle and help them gain so much more. I am so excited to share my knowledge!
My Training
I am so excited to share what I am learning about Nutrition with you. What you are eating has a huge impact on your health and how you feel in general. As a nurse I have seen the adverse effects of poor nutrition. The old saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... Well it's true. You can change your health! Integrative medicine goes beyond just the symptoms to look for the root of the problem. That is so exciting to me. Instead of giving you a pill to fix your heartburn... lets explore to see what is causing the heartburn.
I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program. I'm a board certified health coach, a Licensed Practical Nurse My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results. |
