,My best friend yesterday said to me "On the outside you look like you have it all together, but on the inside you clearly do not." Now she knows that because I share with her all my feelings. She knows my insecurities, my doubts, what scare me the most because she is that person for me. But all day that haunted me. All my feelings about being a fake, or not living the life that I want to as a health coach. I started questioning myself and what I give out to the universe. I truly try to practice what I preach. I try to eat clean.. I limit processed food. I do not eat bread or pasta unless its gluten free and that is on occasion. I do not eat refined sugar except on a rare occasion. I buy organic vegetables using the dirty dozen clean fifteen list. I try to exercise at least 4 days a week. Here is where is gets tricky. EMOTIONALLY! You know when you are walking through life and all of a sudden you get kicked in the gut? Something comes at you that you weren't expecting. It takes your breathe for a moment and you are reeling. I do all the things that I tell others to do, but sometimes I am still consumed with anxiety and stress. I have not came to a place in my life where it does not control my life to a certain point. When I feel overwhelmed, I lose my way. I lose sight of where I am going and which path to take. It is my way of self-sabotage. So when I coach other people through their situations, I truly know what I am talking about and can put myself in their shoes. It does not mean that I have conquered all my own demons. Life is a journey. I have grown and changed so much in the last 10 years. I do not resort to eating sugar to comfort myself. I have NOT allowed my issues to make me gain my weight back, but I am a work in progress. I have learned to practice these steps to help me get back on my path and not self-Sabotage. To keep on going forward.
1. I exercise. Some form that makes me sweat. Walk, run, HIIT whatever but sweating makes it better.
2.Podcasts that are uplifting. My favorite is Mastin Kipp Power and Purpose. Very short podcasts that encourage me for the day.
3. Eat foods that ground me, and be very limited on foods with sugar even natural sugar because it feeds my anxiety.
4. Take a Detox bath. Let the essential oils and Epsom Salts take away some of the toxins in my body.
5. I take an herbal supplement full of adaptogen herbs. Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, Holy Basil, & L Theanine.
6. Essential oils.. I use Young Living. They have a couple of blends that work really well. Peace and Calming, Stress away.
Let's face it. Life is tough sometimes. Even when we try our best to keep it together and not let it throw us a curse, it always surprises us. But we are in control of how far off the path we allow it to take us. Sometimes having a support person to help talk you through it can be the best medicine. As a health coach I love helping others learn to not self- sabotage and stay on their health journey.
